Jo Brown is Research Manager at Groundswell, a charity creating solutions to end homelessness, that come directly from people who have been homeless. She has significant experience working in the voluntary sector at both a local and national level, focusing on health and homelessness.
At Groundswell, she leads the national #HealthNow research and manages various research and evaluation projects, often working collaboratively with academic, statutory, and voluntary sector partners to ensure research is coproduced with people experiencing homelessness. She recently worked with peer researchers to conduct research exploring the barriers people experiencing homelessness face when accessing mental health services.
Jo previously worked as Researcher for a local Healthwatch organisation and completed a secondment for Healthwatch England to support patient engagement on the NHS Long Term Plan. Her PhD explored disabled people’s experiences of welfare conditionality.
